Spend the day relaxing at one of Cape Town’s oldest wineries while enjoying a delicious picnic prepared at the charcuterie. Find a spot on Hazendal’s shady lawns or next to their picturesque wetlands and enjoy sumptuous delights including artisan bread with hummus and a selection of cold cuts. Accompany your delicacies with some of the estate’s best wines.

Hazendal picnics are available from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Advance reservations (24 hours in advance) are essential.

Vegetarian and halal-friendly baskets are also available on request. Add a bottle or two of Groot Constantia’s award-winning wines and you’ll have the perfect afternoon. Picnics must be reserved at least 24 hours in advance.

Moyo in Kirstenbosch

Moyo in Kirstenbosch offers three picnic options: the Simple, Vegetarian Picnic and the Picnic for 2, each offering delicious sides like spiced chickpeas, vegan bowls, sandwiches and a chocolate dessert. The picnic for 2 includes cheese and charcuterie platters.

Menu options include butternut and lentil meatballs with wild mushroom pâté, salmon trout and cream cheese bagels, and dark chocolate tart adorned with seasonal fruit.
