Dream of venture capitalan investor accelerator dedicated to training the next generation of African investors globally, is pleased to announce that applications for its 2023 Venture Capital Fellowship programs are now open.

The programs offer a comprehensive curriculum, hands-on training and direct exposure to world-class investors, providing the ideal launch pad for aspiring and current investors looking to enter the African venture capital sector.

Dream VC programs have program support from over 50 venture capital funds. To date, more than 80 fellows have been trained through its flagship Investor Accelerator and Venture Capital Launch programs. Although most are based in Africa, these fellows are now found everywhere from North America to South Asia.

Former fellows have gone on to launch investment funds, establish accelerators and startup hubs, and join new and established investment funds in Africa and beyond. Today, Dream VC Fellows work with over 35 venture capital and private equity funds, including Ajim Capital, Capria Ventures, Future Africa, Lateral Frontiers, Oui Capital, Verod-Kepple Africa Ventures and many more. others, and invest in hundreds of startups.

This year, Dream VC will organize two programs:

  • The 3-month venture capital launch program (LIVC)
  • The 5-month investor acceleration program

THE Launch into venture capital program is ideal for young professionals and graduates who want to gain an unrivaled skillset and access entry-level positions (interns, analysts, associates) in Africa-focused venture capital and investment firms.

The Launch into Venture Capital program is very intensive and structured like a bootcamp, with primarily skills-based training throughout the program. Fellows of this program would undergo an intensive course on venture capital, learn fundamental venture capital skills such as screening, analysis, due diligence, etc., and be trained in post-value addition. investment and start-up assistance. The program also includes extensive career development, mentoring and network development activities.

The Investor Accelerator Program is aimed at mid-to-late stage professionals with the capital and experience to begin investment activities upon completion of the program.

The Investor Accelerator Program is an immersive experience that covers over 800 hours of on-demand content and multiple weekly lessons on skill development, theory, fundamentals, venture capital and angel investing, covering from many topics, from VC 101 to launching funds and VC. Career development. Fellows in this program would be immersed in Dream VC’s comprehensive 0 to 100 program. Once the program is completed, they will be ready to begin investment activities or launch an initiative.

Dream VC’s application process has an acceptance rate of less than 10% based on past data and founder interviews. Applicants undergo a four-step application process including motivational questions, research assignments, interviews with former fellows and Dream VC staff.

The programs will take place in summer and fall, with Launch of the VC program from June to the end of August and the Investor Accelerator Program running from June to the end of October.
