The National Association of Eritrean War Disabled Veterans held its annual meeting to evaluate its activities on February 9 in Asmara.
Mr. Mohammed Nur Idris, responsible for organization and information of the association, highlighted the constant efforts of the association to ensure the well-being of its members. He called on partners to strengthen their participation and contribution in order to further strengthen the association’s efforts.
During the meeting, reports were presented by the leaders of the regional associations, emphasizing the central role of partners in strengthening the economic capacity of the association. Efforts to improve the livelihood of war-disabled veterans by engaging in small-scale business activities, including bakeries, poultry and fish farming, and other initiatives, were also highlighted .
Reports revealed that in 2023, more than Nakfa 6 million in loans were distributed to 405 members, representing an increase of Nakfa 1 million compared to 2022.
In-depth discussions took place on the reports presented, leading to the adoption of various recommendations. These included proposals to increase partner contributions, implementation of sustainable awareness activities, project design, intensifying efforts to develop the economic capacity of the association and continued monitoring of the centers physiotherapy, among other initiatives.
