Q: Tell me about the TEF business management training program

The content of the TEF business management training program is called the Start-up Business Toolkit. This is a tailor-made program designed to support dynamic young entrepreneurs throughout their professional journey with a focus on the successful execution of their business plans and ideas.

Our training program is adapted to the pace of each entrepreneur, allowing participants the flexibility to follow the training while continuing their usual activities.

Q: Where does the training take place?

The entire training process takes place strictly on TEFConnect.net portal.

Q: How long is the training?

The training phase of the program will last twelve (12) weeks. However, some intervention programs could be modified to last 4 or 6 weeks.

Q: How will I complete my business plan?

Please note that the Foundation will guide you in creating a Business plan.

Q: How do I access the training content?

TEF entrepreneurs can access all the learning content necessary for their cycle and continuing education in the resource library on TEFConnect.net

Q: How can I join the WhatsApp group as an eligible entrepreneur?

As part of your onboarding, you will have access to a TEF-specified digital platform for instant communication and networking purposes.

Q: I can’t access the link to the training content that was sent

Please send an email to enquiries@tonyelumelufoundation.org explaining the problem in detail.

Q: Do I need to take a training assessment?

Yes, all contractors are advised to be diligent in completing their tasks and submitting them on time.

Q: What is the Preparatory Training category?

This means that your skills are not ready to meet the challenges of starting a business and therefore you will not be eligible to complete the training or receive seed capital funding at this time. However, we encourage you to strengthen your skills with our free training toolkit available on TEFConnect and apply again in our next application cycle.

Q: Why am I in a training category?

Our system has evaluated the answers to the questions you provided and placed you on the appropriate training path.

Q: What is the Startup Training Category?

This means you will complete beginner training modules and have access to world-class mentors during the program. Depending on your performance throughout the training program, you also have the opportunity to present your business plan to a set of judges for final selection to receive seed capital.

Q: What is the Innovator Training category?

This means you will complete intermediate training modules and have access to world-class mentors during the program. Depending on your performance throughout the training program, you also have the opportunity to present your business plan to all judges for final selection to receive seed capital.

Q: What is the disruptive training category?

This means you will complete advanced training modules and have access to world-class mentors during the program. Depending on your performance throughout the training program, you also have the opportunity to present your business in person to a panel of judges for final selection and receive seed capital.

Q: Is it possible to see my assessment score?

This will be subject to a formal request from the contractor. Please note that TEF reserves all rights to decide whether to reveal it or not.

Q: What do you mean by resource library?

The Online Resource Library is a tailor-made collection of interesting documents, case studies, videos, tasks, templates and articles.

Q: What do you mean by business plan? Is it different from a Pitch Deck?

Yes it is. A business plan is a written document that describes in detail how a company – usually a start-up – defines its objectives and how it should go about achieving its objectives, while a pitch deck is the summary of a business plan.

Q: I did not receive the link to the business plan template

Please be sure to check your inbox, spam, and junk mailboxes for a link to the business plan template. Be sure to send an email to enquiries@tonyelumelufoundation.org for any further help.

Q: Can I get an extension for submitting my business plan?

Submission of the Business Plan generally occurs during the 10th week of the training program. During the training, clear communication on the deadlines for submitting the business plan is communicated to the trainees and must be respected.

Q: Can I open a bank account now that training is underway?

Please do not open a bank account. Once you are eligible to receive seed capital funding, the Entrepreneurship Program team will communicate next steps with you.

Q: Can I change my business idea/name?

Yes you can. However, it is advisable to send an email to enquiries@tonyelumelufoundation.org stating your reason and proof or identification that reflects the changes.

Q: How do I access the free training module?

As part of our support for all African entrepreneurs this year, we have made the 12-week business toolkit available to anyone who wants to learn. Please note that the training is free and at your own pace; You are not required to submit an assignment or business plan and the activities to be done are for your learning and personal records. Q: How can I prepare before the training starts?

Q: Can I change my registered email address to a new one?
