Starting with seed business, in 2010, GAWAL obtained the seed license from the Nigerian National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC). In 2011, GAWAL started producing and supplying rice seeds, developing a diversified seed business based on local planting structure.
Since then, in addition to running a 2,025ha mechanized demonstration farm in Kebbi State, the company has established seven seed production cooperatives with over 5,000 smallholder farmers in Nigeria; Through training and dissemination of rice and corn seed production techniques to local farmers, he developed these farmers as outgrower producers, thereby helping them get rid of poverty and increase their income. income.
Currently, the company has an annual seed production capacity of more than 10,000 tons. From 2011 to date, GAWAL has supplied over 20,000 tonnes of quality seeds, including certified rice seeds, certified maize seeds and staple rice seeds, to Nigerian farmers in over 30 states through government programs such as the Growth Enhancement Support (GES) program, Anchor Borrowers. The agricultural technical training took place in collaboration with WAAPP (West Africa Agricultural Productivity Program).
