Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem commented on the Prime Minister Speech by Benjamin Netanyahu at the opening of the 78th United Nations General Assembly.

Qassem said: “Netanyahu practiced an unprecedented state of intimidation against our Palestinian people in his speech, following the normalization agreements that have been concluded or those that are being concluded. »

“Netanyahu’s mention of the positive effects of normalization confirms that this path only serves the interests of the occupation and constitutes a real threat to the Palestinian cause,” he added.

Hamas has called for a boycott of the Israeli “occupation” during this period of increasing normalization between Israel and Arab states.

“The Hamas movement called on Arab and Muslim countries, as well as free peoples around the world, to continue to reject the normalization of ties with the Israeli occupation.” read the statement.

Normalization imminent

This comes after Foreign Minister Eli Cohen announced during an interview with Israeli television channel KAN News that six or seven Muslim nations will join Saudi Arabia in making peace with Israel.

The nations should come from Africa and Asia.

“I tell you, I have met with several officials from Muslim countries with whom Israel does not have formal ties,” Cohen said.
