Jubilee Life Insurance has launched the 2023 Live Free Art Competition, which will see the top ten students from various schools across the country being awarded a secondary school scholarship worth Sh3 million.

The competition is aimed at students in grades 1 to 4 of the Competency-Based Education (CBC) curriculum.

The top ten students will also be enrolled in the company’s mentoring program.

“We are delighted to launch the third edition of the Jubilee Live Free Art Competition. The art competition will enable young learners in Kenya to demonstrate their artistic prowess and be recognized for their talents,” said Ms. Wilbroda Odera, Jubilee Life Insurance Managing Director for Retail Life Insurance and Pensions.

The annual competition, whose theme this year is “Celebrating Moments of Jubilation,” is designed to foster a love of art and encourage creativity and self-expression among young students in private and public schools.

Learner submissions will be evaluated and judged by art educators and creative professionals. The competition will be divided into two categories (grades 1 and 2, and grades 3 and 4).

To participate, interested students must submit their works and duly completed registration forms between Monday July 24 and Friday September 8.

Registration forms can be found on the company’s website.

“The competition organized by Jubilee will inspire young artists from different parts of Kenya while allowing them to develop their visual culture and showcase their imagination. Our students are excited to be part of this exciting initiative,” said George Nginyo, a teacher at Green Gardens School.

“We believe that learners should be exposed to a learning environment that allows them to become whole individuals,” he added.

The artwork must be submitted to the company’s head office in downtown Nairobi by September 8.
