SMEs represent the majority of businesses worldwide and contribute significantly to job creation and global economic development. They represent around 90% of businesses and more than 50% of jobs worldwide. Formal SMEs contribute up to 40% of national income (GDP) in emerging economies. These figures are significantly higher when informal SMEs are included.

However, access to financing constitutes a major constraint to the growth of SMEs. This is the second most cited barrier faced by SMEs wishing to expand their businesses in emerging markets and developing countries. According to a recent World Bank report: https://www.worldbank.org/en/topic/smefinance

Most businesses need start-up capital to get started, working capital to operate and be in business; and growth capital to scale and grow. Financiers and investors say there is money to be given, but the problems on the MSME side are numerous, ranging from lack of knowledge, poor documentation, lack of collateral, lack of track record of credit and poor governance structure; among others.

We are delighted to announce the launch of the School of Grant Success (SGS) as a solution in this regard and contribute to business and economic development in Nigeria and beyond.
