FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and President Bola Tinubu

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party of Nasarawa State has called on the state governor, Abdullahi Sule, to address the development challenges of the state as the time for politics is over.

The party also urged the governor to leave President Bola Ahmed Tinibu and FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, out of politics in the state and face his political challenges.

The PDP Chairman, Chief Francis Orogu Enokela, gave the warning at the weekend in Lafia.

Chief Orogu said the party has observed with grave concern the failure of the governor to settle down like his counterparts in other states to make an impact after his four years and three months in office.

“We have observed that after four years and three months in power, Governor Abdullahi Sule is yet to commission a single noteworthy project in the state due to his poor leadership capacity to manage the huge resources of the state .

“It is worrying that the APC Governor in Nasarawa State is only hiding under the guise of collaborating with the former Governor of River State who has just been appointed Minister of the FCT, to discuss the development of infrastructure and security between Nasarawa State and the FCT, while even his farm was the headquarters of the kidnappers’ den.

“We strongly advise Mr. Wike to ask Governor Sule why Nasarawa State has become a hideout for terrorists operating in the federal capital.

“Mr Wike must further note that the crises in Benue State are mainly on the border with Nasarawa as well as in Taraba, Plateau, Kogi and Southern Kaduna. In recent times, even arms traffickers arrested in Enugu and Zamfara states claimed to have taken off from Lafia, the state capital.

“Under Sule, a sitting state chairman of the APC, Mr. Philip Tatari, was killed in Lafia metropolis and nothing happened. Former Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission, Alh. Zakari Umaru, a classmate and immediate neighbor of Governor Sule in Gudi, was murdered in his house after struggling for four hours to seek help before being assassinated by the terrorists.

Adding: “This is just part of the litany of several others, including emirs, chiefs, farmers and civilians, who have either been killed or kidnapped. Professor Onje Gye Wado, a former deputy governor, was kidnapped while former Information Minister Labaran Maku was attacked twice.

“Unfortunately, and only recently, two army generals were kidnapped. It is noteworthy that all the hills of Nasarawa State are currently occupied by Fulani fundamentalist terrorists of foreign origin.

“A significant number of terrorist groups from across West Africa are camped in Nasarawa State, terrorizing all the way to northern Anambra and Enugu states.

“We believe that a conscious commitment to governance on the part of Mr. Sule should have reduced or eliminated these security challenges. It is the inefficiency and insecurity ravaging the state that led to the rejection of Governor Sule in the last election.

“We therefore called on the Federal Government to take a close look at the competence of the current state government to manage state affairs with a view to providing additional support to the Army Operational Brigade in Doma and a training center mobile police station located in one of the most vulnerable areas of the state.

“We want to use this opportunity to bring to the attention of the Governor of Nasarawa State that the time for politics is over and as such, he should not use the time meant for the development of the State to involve Mr. President and the Minister in State politics.

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State hereby appeals to well-meaning citizens of the state and other Nigerians, including the President and Minister Wike, to kindly assist the state by directing the governor’s attention to state development rather than state development. than seeking support and seeking help everywhere to influence the court to render judgment in his favor.

“The State PDP is aware of all the antics Mr. Sule is displaying to influence the decision of the Tribunal. Although the party believes in the integrity of the justice system, any attempt to interfere with justice will only destroy the democracy we have all agreed to practice.
