No plans to enter politics for now: Mahanaryaman Scindia

Mahanaryaman Scindia, son of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, said he has no plans to enter politics at the moment. Instead, he is working on starting a cricket league, said the 27-year-old scion of the Gwalior royal family.

“Politics is certainly a way to bring change in society, but for now I have no plans to enter politics,” Mr. Scindia said. PTI on Sunday.

Mr. Mahanaryaman said that even a single person can bring a big change in the society and for that he does not need to enter politics.

“Mahatma Gandhi single-handedly launched an apolitical revolution in South Africa and India,” said Mr. Scindia, whose father is the Union Civil Aviation Minister.

To a question whether his father’s supporters hope that he will one day become the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Scindia replied: “It is everyone’s right to have expectations.” But I would not like to discuss this subject at the moment. Right now we’re just focusing on our work.

Mr. Scindia, vice-president of the Gwalior Division Cricket Association and a member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA), said he was working on a plan to set up a cricket league to encourage sporting talent in rural areas of State.

He said an official announcement regarding the start of this league could be made in one or two months.
