Kwa-Thema – The Ratanang Senior Citizens’ Organization celebrated Heritage Month last Wednesday at the Kwa-Thema Hall.

The day embraced diverse cultures and celebrated the lives of two elderly women, Tembani Masango (103) and Violet Molefe (106).

Both are members of the organization.

Nomvula Anna Sibanyoni, the founder of the organization, said: “These women are also part of our heritage because they lived in a time that we were not a part of. They carry a lot of knowledge from the past.

Sibanyoni said these women were a blessing and the organization greatly appreciated them.

“Women have lived this long by leading healthy lifestyles and eating traditional, organic foods. That’s why we ate traditional food during the celebration,” she said.

The organization rewarded the founding members for their contribution.

Sibanyoni said she was grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of the day.
