The Rockville Men’s Forum will hold a wellness day on March 23 at The Rock (next to Tsakane Cemetery) at 9:00 a.m.

According to the forum’s Licensing Communications Manager, Kenny Nkambule, the Ministry of Health will be available to provide screening and checks for participants. Members of the community are invited to attend and admission is free.

The day’s activities will include a 5km fun walk and run and a six-a-side football tournament.

“The University of the Witwatersrand will provide a mobile clinic with doctors and nurses who will be available to discuss medical issues and help screen people,” Nkambule said.

“Law practitioners and life coaches will be present to offer their services to participants.

“We created this Men’s Forum because of the stigma that Rockville is corrupt and full of drug and alcohol abuse. We want to write a new chapter and we are starting again.

Food and drinks will be sold on site.
