Trick-or-treating was different this year. My 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter wanted to go out and walk with friends. It was nice to see them create their own memories. I did, however, go down a rabbit hole with their photos from younger years – how I made their costumes and walked around the neighborhood together.
I also went down my email rabbit hole and found this gem of an email.
“Hello Mefi, I went on a safari organized by you personally in May 2001, with your parents picking me up from Dar es Salaam airport and Issa as my guide. Everything was spectacular, except for all the rolls of film that I remember having to carry 🙂
I would like to plan a return trip in early 2020, finally, this time with my girlfriend and another couple. I just checked the web to see if you were still in this business and I assume you are.“.

Yes, I’m still going strong after 23 years with downturns here and there for two kids and a global pandemic. I know some of you chatted with me while I rocked my babies. I started out planning safaris only in my home country of Tanzania and now plan throughout Eastern and Southern Africa as well as the Congo Basin. It has truly been a crazy adventure traveling to many places, learning, growing, evolving and planning Safari with you all.
It’s been many more years and emails like Greg’s. By the way, Greg took Lori, Deb and Tom on Safari in 2022 and they had a wonderful time in Tanzania!
