WCAF takes place following the success of last year’s event, highlighting the increasingly deepening trade relationships between the UK and the continent’s French-speaking markets.

International Trade Minister Nigel Huddleston said:

West and Central Africa represents a huge investment opportunity for the UK. This Forum is an excellent demonstration of how the UK continues to strengthen its trade links and open up new export and investment opportunities for businesses.

French-speaking markets have a clear vision for economic growth and prosperity, and the UK is ready to support these countries by building modern, long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.

Delegates officially launched the WCAF this morning by ringing the opening bell at the London Stock Exchange.

During the Forum, representatives will take part in personalized discussions and roundtable discussions to explore new business opportunities in key areas such as sustainability, agriculture, energy and healthcare.

The WCAF demonstrates the Government’s commitment to working with a range of African partners to promote bilateral trade and investment ahead of the UK-Africa Investment Summit in April 2024.
