Tsakani – Yamkelusizo Lwethu Cleaning Services is a small business of three women trying to make ends meet.
The trio from Tsakani Ext 3 went house to house in August to inform residents about their new business, currently focused on washing trash cans after garbage collection.
They started washing trash cans on August 28, washing 13 trash cans that day. They then faced difficulties, forcing them to wash the 11th on September 18th.
They wash the trash on Monday.
Busisiwe Nkosi said: “God has given us a mind to think and hands to work. So we thought we couldn’t continue to live in poverty when we could use our hands to earn money.
She said this business did not need start-up capital as she took the cleaning supplies from home. Nkosi said they were willing and hoping to grow the business by expanding it to the whole of Tsakani.
“People are unemployed, so we understand that our activities will not always go as planned. We generally target those who we know are employed,” she added.
Nkosi said they currently needed sponsors to help them with cleaning materials. To help women, call Nkosi on 078 520 8531.
