Meta hopes Apple’s Vision Pro can help save the metaverse

Meta executives view Apple’s entry into the market not only as validation for Mark ZuckerbergThe pivot to the metaverse, but also as a way to attract more customers, the Journal reported, citing anonymous sources. They said the company hopes its Quest headset could become the Google Android of the metaverse.

Meta’s headset retails for around $500, a fraction of the $3,500 price of the Vision Pro. This last device high price, which has already proven to be a sore point with potential buyers, could push customers towards Meta’s cheaper alternatives.
