The populations of the gold-mining village of Diyabougou in the Bakel department were stunned on Wednesday following a macabre discovery. A young woman named Aicha was killed and thrown into the street near the village football field.
“It was around 8 a.m. that we were alerted to the macabre discovery of a young woman named Aicha near the village football field. She was a prostitute from Nigeria and mother of one child. The lifeless body was found with traces of blood visible on the face and signs of strangulation. Her wig, bra and shoes were also found a few meters from the bodys,” said Mr. Coulibaly, a gold miner.
According to Mr. Coulibaly, this tragedy plunged the village into turmoil and dismay. “ The crime left no one indifferent. The gold miners all flocked to the scene. On site, the Nigerian community, including their fellow prostitutes, wore a sad face, a sullen expression. Alerted, the gendarmerie elements came to carry out the usual findings “, he said.
