Senegal national team: The Comex extends

In conclave yesterday, Thursday, the Executive Committee of the Senegalese Football Federation (Comex) confirmed Aliou Cissé at the head of the Senegal national team until CAN Morocco 2025. The Senegalese technician who did not reach his objectives, to reach the quarter-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup and to retain the title of African champion, set at the time of renewing his contract on November 11, 2022, will nevertheless retain his position.

According to L’Observateur which cites an internal source, some federal officials expressed reservations about Aliou Cissé’s abilities to lead new campaigns on the bench of the national team, the vote leaned in his favor.

Thanks to this extension of more than one year, Aliou Cissé will break the record for longevity of a coach at the head of an African team (10 years). He will also have to breathe new life into the national team in order to raise it to the highest level.

The new mission of the 2021 African champion coach will begin with the friendly matches scheduled for March 22 against Gabon and March 26 against Benin, in Amiens.
