The electoral code revisited by the magistrates of Ziguinchor

In view of the Presidential election of February 25, 2024, an upgrading workshop was dedicated to the magistrates of Ziguinchor. A repetition and reminder session of the Electoral Code for magistrates, specified Mamadou Dème, 1st president of the Court of Appeal of Ziguinchor.

These judges who have the role of delegate to the court of appeal and who are called to sit on the vote counting commissions must be able to play their part in the electoral process, recalled Mamadou Dème.

For the magistrate, it is a sort of repetition and refreshment of memory, during this electoral period, “of the rules of the Electoral Code that the various magistrates will have to apply during the course of the elections”.

Magistrate Dème revealed that the goal is that the elections take place in the best possible conditions, that the various magistrates play their participation well and cannot be the cause of hiccups, if there are any, during the process . electoral. The presidential election of February 25, 2024 is extremely important, to the extent that “it is a question of designating the one who will preside over the destiny of Senegal for the next five years”, said the 1st president of the Court of Appeal . from Ziguinchor.

It is necessary to respect this tradition of the Court of Appeal, namely to hold this reminder workshop every day before elections, according to Judge Dème.
